Jezabelle Cormio was born on September 20th of 1990, from American and Italian parents. She attended the St George’s international school in Rome through high school. After which she moved to London for a foundation course, and later to Belgium, to attend the Royal Academy of Antwerp Fashion Design department. During her masterclass year she was selected to produce around seventy pieces for Opening Ceremony to sell in their New York, Los Angeles and London stores. In June 2013 she showcased a Masters graduation collection that was presented to an international jury composed of The New York Times’ fashion journalist Suzy Menkes, and the ‘Antwerp Six’, the famous six Belgian designers that graduated in the early eighties, and later contributed to the Academy’s international fame and prestige. Amongst these we remember Walter Van Beirendonck, Dries Van Noten, Dirk Bikkenbergs, Martin Margiela, and Ann Demulemeester. The latter selected Jezabelle’s collection to be shown, together with other three emerging talents, in an exhibition at the Egmont Palais of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bruxelles, inaugurated by Her Majesty the Queen Mathilde of Belgium.

She is currently working on a womenswear collection as well as an e-commerce project.

She also collaborates with ‘The cARTel’ in Dubai, an independent designer luxury showroom, where she is able to showcase her most elaborate one-of-a-kind pieces.

She told us that she has been drawing clothes since she was a little girl, and has always wanted to be in charge of what to wear. She has a great passion for rich textiles like lurex and velvet.

To us she’s quite the outsider, capable of attracting attention with outstanding garments. Loud, but never vulgar. This year we are happy to announce Jezabelle Cormio’s collaboration with Signorina Grandi Firme!
